Le coup de canon a retentit à 9h30 : Thomas Ruyant s'est élancé dans la Transat Jacques Vabre, avec son co-skipper Morgan Lagravière, sur son tout nouvel IMOCA For People ! Un départ du Havre, après 9 jours de retard liés à la météo. Le tracé a été modifié, raccourci à 3765 milles, avec une route plus directe vers la ligne d'arrivée à Fort-de-France en Martinique. La bataille s'annonce rude, avec 40 IMOCA au total en compétition et des premiers jours qui s'annoncent toniques. Mais Thomas Ruyant est bien déterminé à défendre son titre et vise le doublé !
